Day-7

It was Day-7 and I was looking forward to start of the day with two new subjects. Strategic Financial Management(SFM) in the morning and then Consumer Behavior in the afternoon(CB). I was at home the previous night (as it was a weekend) and was watching the doubles Final match between Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. I was only able to sleep at 2:30 am. I had a class at 8:45 and although I kept an alarm for 7:30 unfortunately i was able to wake up only at 8. It takes 45 minutes to travel by car from Gandhinagar to IIMA. I finished up with some necessities at home and embarked for IIMA around 8:15. If this goof up was not enough, my car ran out of gas. I went to the gas station to find only one person in the station and a long line which again took away my valuable 25 minutes. This was a sad beginning to the SFM class as I had to miss it(inspite of driving at an average speed of 90 km/hr).
The next class was of CB(I was going to miss this class also as there was some misunderstanding in my reading of the schedule but fortunately I called Nirav just before the class and he told me about the class being at 2:30 pm). So without reading the case I go to the class and somehow managed to read it during the first hour. This is when I realized the real take away from AIM. It not only prepares you to read well in a short time but also helps you make sense of the case. Just when I was on the verge of finishing the reading the madam asked a question on Subhiksha retail store which many students answered but were not able to convince the Prof. I pitch in with a classic CP and it hits the bulls eye. She liked my answer and I added one more to my tally of ever increasing CP at IIMA.
We have got two assignments for today in both the subjects and the people who would be reading my blogs (if there are any :-)) would find me writing it irregularly based on how hectic the schedule is. Although I would try to write any good insights I get here but the time lag would definetely increase. I am also suppose to play frisbee with the students here at IIMA around midnight and what I am told is that its great fun.
